In SEO world most of the experts says that “Content is King”. Before we start writing content for our website, I think it’s important to remember whom are we addressing.

We are going to write for our customers as well as for SEO.

For Customers/Visitors

Remember people do not have time to read your articles, if this is a business website. They want to know about your products and services. You should always try to elaborate your products or services in a compact manner. So, definitely we do not need to write long stories for our customers. If you are looking to talk about your industry as an expert, start your blog and there you can go as long as you wish to.

For Search Engines

Most of the experts tell that never write for Search engines but for your customers.  This theory is good for bloggers but not for small businesses. Definitely we are going to write for our customers but we need to understand many things regarding Search Engine guidelines.

So in short, we are going to write content for our website by understanding our customer needs as well according to Search Engine guidelines.

  1. Plagiarized Content:

Never ever use any content from some other website as search engines takes it very seriously. Write your own content or hire some content experts to write your content. If you are outsourcing your content, make sure it is not plagiarized. There are several websites where you can check if the content is plagiarized or not, you may find anyone which is suitable for you. I recommend using as it is free and easy to use.

  1. Every page of your website should must have minimum of 400 – 500 words
  2. Try to cover only one topic in one page, for example if you are a language translation services company but you are renting out translation equipment as well. Do not cover both of these topics in one page. Make different pages in your website and cover each topic in details.
  3. Keyword Density:

This is one of the most important things in your content; Keyword Density means the repetition of words in your content. As we have discussed already that we know which keywords we are targeting on our website page, so we will use same keywords and repeat them few times in our content to maintain certain level of keyword density.

You should always try to maintain 3-5% of keyword density on each of your website page.

There are several websites where you can check keyword density of your content free. I recommend following two

  1. Readability:
As we are writing for our customers, search engines try to analyze your content by using their readability tests. They try to analyze weather the content is easy to understand for customers or not. You can check the readability score of your content at

Or you can search online which is free and useful for you.
